This was not the first home we've purchased, but it proved to among the most challenging as the seller was seemingly very reluctant and almost angry about selling.I've known Michael for 40 years, but never had the opportunity to work with him professionally. Seeing him navigate the fine line of what our needs were and those of the sellers, proved to be quite revealing as to his work ethic, morality, and experience. All three of those characteristics being very important in having someone representing our interests. The sellers had owned the home for 18 years. And it was quite apparent that years ago, they stopped taking care of the house itself and the surrounding grounds. An immense amount of work needed to be done, and we were prepared to do it. We were not prepared, however, to do it at or close to the asking price. Michael understood our position, and probably agreed ( although he could never really say so publicly ).He deftly liaised between us and the sellers until the asking price was dropped by 12%, meeting the number we were willing to pay.Add in the dozen or so times we went back to look at the house...the dealing with permits, paperwork, and seller delays...Michael kept us regularly informed and focused on the goal. I would actually have a hard time believing that someone could care more than Michael.
